Bright Colors

Having been trained for years to reason your life out on the basis of Good being absent from you, you now begin to reason from an entirely different basis.  Emma Curtis Hopkins

Circumstances and situations do color life, but you have been given the mind to choose what the color shall be.  Robert Holden

We can from this point forward decide that Good flows into our lives from all avenues.  We are swimming in Good in all forms.  We must remember that we have the whole universe within us and as such, we can pick and choose what kind of life we are living.

I have decided that I am One of God and I am blessed out of proportion permanently.  That means that I am thriving in health, wealth, joy, beauty, friendship, and am enjoying unmerited Grace in all forms.

Since I have been given the mind to choose what color my life is, I am going to make it the most colorful, beautiful, way I can possibly make it.  I want it filled with flowers, butterflies, rainbows and sunlight filtered through colored glass.  Fill it with music, laughter and abundance of all kinds.

Whether we recognize it or not, all of us are living an extraordinary life.  I am ready right now to experience more abundance and joy.  I think most of are.  I am ready for my dreams to teach me how to dream bigger, greater and to appreciate more of what life has to offer.  Join me?

Join me in recognizing how much good each of us truly has in life.  This morning, we woke to a very chilly morning and how grateful I was to step into a hot shower.  I was grateful for hot running water.  I remember being the "running water" in my early years as I was raised on a farm in North Dakota.  I would have to carry pails of water from the well to the house for washing clothes, bathing, drinking, cooking, and washing dishes.  It didn't matter what the weather was outside, it had to be done.  Do I appreciate being able to turn on a faucet?  You bet!  What is your good?  What do you appreciate in your life?  What "colors" your life?

The Smallest and the Largest Idea

Our personal prayer is a solitary venture.  But through the simple means of thought, and thought alone, we can so consciously unite with the One Presence and Power, the One God, that the very creativity of the Universe is brought to bear upon the least as well as the greatest idea we have incorporated in our prayer.  Ernest Holmes

Somewhere in past essays, I have written about how most of us never ask for enough or settle for so little in our lives that we get to about the end and are disappointed because we realize that there is so much but we have so little to show for.

I remember years ago, I was moving from Southern California to the Bay Area of California and I had all of my belongings packed into a small U-Haul Trailer that I pulled in my then l969 Cadillac.  I remember crying on my way north, that all of my worldly belongings easily fit into a 8 foot U-Haul.  I remember thinking that for the years that I had already worked, I should be moving in three or four 18-wheeler trucks.

I made up my mind during that trip that my life was going to change and that I was going to be more prosperous come hell or high water.  I managed to avoid the high water but did go through some hellish experiences.  I think we all do - horrible bosses, terrible companies, and worse jobs.  Overcoming all of that seems to put us into the mental attitudes we need in order to be more discerning about what it is that we want to experience.

Since then I have come to appreciate my spiritual practice of gratitude, affirmations, of asking for too much, prayer, releasing to God what seems to be of burden to me, journal writing, appreciating and praising every day the joy that I experience and the grace and blessing I have in my life.

Recently, my affirmation has been, "I am so grateful that God is my reliable, permanent, rich, loving, provider of the abundant good in my life."   Consciously uniting with the One Presence and Power of the Universe can make a huge difference in life.  I invite you to experience it.

Now What?

When we pray effectively we are literally speaking from the highest reaches of our consciousness, affirming and declaring what we believe to be the truth about ourself in terms of our awareness and understanding of the nature of God.  We do not have to convince God of anything, but we do have to convince ourself of the immutable action of God in our life.

Every affirmative prayer we make regarding the problem tends to equalize the balance, then the time will come when it will tip to the good side and we will have canceled out the negative things we have added to the balance through years of wrong thinking.

The point of accepting in prayer the answer we desire cannot be overstressed.  This is of key importance.  We establish the idea, and then maintain it by unqualified acceptance that is now our experience.  Ernest Holmes

Sometimes it is hard to remember to keep praying until we get the answer we want.  We keep forgetting that God wants for us what we want for ourselves.  Hard to keep in mind that we are of God, that our mind and God's mind is ONE mind.  When I think my highest thoughts, I am using the Mind of God for my benefit and for the benefit of others.

One of my favorite quotes of Ernest Holmes is, "By thinking, you set in motion a Power that creates.  It will be exactly as you think.  You throw out into Mind an idea, and Mind create it and sets it on the path of your life."

It doesn't get much simpler that that.  When I want to experience something new, the hard part about the situation is deciding what it is that I want to experience.  Sometimes having too many choices is as difficult as not having enough.

To give you an example, my Beloved and I were discussing where we wanted to go this late summer or early fall on an extended trip through the United States in our motor home.  We have more than enough money to go anywhere but we have too many choices.  We also want to spend some time in England and Europe.  Where to go first?  How long?  And my next question is, "Can I take my bed with me?

What is exciting to me is that all of my dental work will be done by that time and I will be fully healed to be able to travel in comfort.  Where to go and what to do first?  So many choices!  What a privilege it is for me to be able to say that because there was a time in my life when I never thought I would have as many choices as I do now.  All of it due to taking the time to think about what it is that I wanted in my life when I thought my life was over!  Little did I know that it was just beginning.  Thank you God.

When you think you are at the end of the road in your life, just stop.  Breath.  Relax.  Ask God for inspiration for your next step.  Your next step could be your new beginning of a whole new life for you.  Allow yourself to be delighted and surprised and maybe astonished as to what shows up for you.  Remember, by thinking, God sets it on the path of your life.  Think big, Think fun.  But THINK!
