On the Right Track

"The Intelligence that endowed you with the power to be that which you are has fortified you and is always revealing to you ideas that will bring forth that expression."  Collected Essays of Robert Bitzer

No matter how much we think we don't know, or how much we evade what it is that we were meant to do, eventually we have to do what we were created to do.  This explains why I started my career as a file clerk, moved up to being what is now called an administrative assistant, learned book keeping, office management, got into sales - and in all of it - searching.  Searching for the "right" fit for me.  Interestingly enough, I was a great success at all of what I did.  It just didn't seem enough at the time.

When I finished my training as a spiritual leader, I realized that all of what I did previously, led me into doing what it was that made me a better minister.  The first ministry I moved into, I had to clean up the office and "file" important papers for posterity; was able to read a profit and loss statement and "get" what areas of the church needed some immediate attention; and my job was to "sell" people on a concept of a power inside of themselves that would assist them in creating a more fulfilling life.

All of life's experiences gently lead each one of us down our particular paths.  Early in my career, I heard Jean Houston say, "We are all multitalented."  I wondered what else I could do well within the ministry.

I realized early on that my presence was a "healing" presence.  Just holding a hand, calmed people down.  My words while doing a Spiritual Mind Treatment (prayer) were the right healing words for people to grasp to have huge changes in their lives.  My Sunday lectures brought interesting insights and various areas for individual contemplations.

Years later, I realized that I had just followed an intuitive trail inspired by my higher power.  Robert Bitzer goes on to tell us that, "Intuition works so quietly and silently, almost subtly, that you have to be very alert and receptive to get it."  I just followed the ideas which were leading me to my next step.  Now I realize it was leading me into a higher awareness of consciousness and to a life that allowed me to fully enjoy all that it has to offer.

I invite you to think about this and your life in order for you to accept your destiny early on and live a life filled with divine blessing.

A Deeper Understanding of Life

"We are not one in God or one with God, but we are One of God."  Ernest Holmes

Ernest Holmes goes on to tell us, "Although the identity is the same in essence, is is not the same in degree."  The definition of degree is "a step or stage in a process, course, or order of classification; the extent, measure, or scope of an action, condition, or relation; relative intensity."

I love knowing that I am a "spark" of God.  In order to increase that spark in degree, I just need to step up the intensity or step into a greater degree of knowingness for myself.  In thinking about this concept, I get, and then I don't, how greatness, power, and genius reside in each one of us.  We are One of God.  Even if all it, is a cell, molecule or atom, I'll take it and I want more of it.

Think what is possible with "the Mind of God within."  When I think of stepping up into the "mind of God within me," I automatically think of the great Biblical quote that says, "All things are possible with God."  Yikes! That means that all things are possible with me, for me and of me.   Well, there go all the excuses!

Can you imagine God saying, "Oh, I need to sit and rest" while creating the world?  Ah, but maybe that is where Komodo lizards or alligators or monsters of the deep came from - maybe an unfinished process?  Or if It said, "This is too hard, I don't think I can do it?"  Or "What's the use?  No one will use it anyway."

I am certainly grateful that I was cooked (brought to term in the womb) perfectly and that I am allowed to use all of the gifts given to me at birth.  There are times that I forget how talented, creative and artful I am, and I want (like most of us) to use all of the excuses I can to NOT come up to perfection.  Then I think how blessed I am and that I need to give something back for all of the goodness I am enjoying in my life.  How about you?

Consciously Awake and Aware

"Consciously choosing engages your will as well as your mind and heart.  It brings you into the center of our own existence where you can feel in charge.  Consciously choosing also means that you are becoming a more skilled observer of your own life.  Again, this doesn't invite cold detachment.  It does support a greater sense of inner stability, openness, and freedom."  Stephanie Dorwrick

This reminds me to be mindful of all that is going on around me.  It calls to me to pay attention to what is important and to what is going on around me.  There is a tendency to go unconsciousness when the pressure gets too much or there is not enough going on.

These last several days have been very painful for me and I had a tendency to go unconscious because I didn't want to face what happened or how I was dealing with the situation.  We were in Phoenix last week where I officiated at a wedding of the daughter of one of my best friends when I first moved to California right after high school.  Danny and I were roommates and we managed to stay in touch with each other through the years.  She got married and moved to Portland, OR.  I got married and moved to San Jose, CA.  She moved back to southern California and again we got in touch.  I officiated at the wedding of her son, her remarriage and then the memorial for her years later.  During this time, her daughter said that she wanted me to marry her when the time came.  I agreed.

That time was last Friday.  Her brother walked her down the aisle and gave her away.  She was so incredibly beautiful and I knew her mother was there with us in spirit because we both cried with happiness.  Several hours later, her brother died of natural causes in his hotel room.  His 9 or 10 year old daughter, who traveled with him from Ohio, was with him and discovered him the next morning.

We were driving home to Oklahoma when we got the news and I went numb.  I could not process the information because...because...I don't really know.  I guess I didn't want to accept the situation.  I went unconscious.

The most incredible thing out of all of this is that his company flew the company jet to California to pick up his in-laws, flew to Phoenix, to pick up the daughter and then home to Ohio.  I tracked down the company phone number and called them to tell them how much I appreciated their consideration and good will.

I realized that the way to process transitions is to talk, talk, talk.  The more I talked, the better I felt.  I can accept his death now, bless him on his journey, send comforting thoughts to the family and proclaim peace and calm and comfort to all.

Life can be short, appreciate all you have and the loved ones you have around you far and near.  Be blessed.

Divine Sparks

We all have a destiny, a dharma to fulfill, and there are endless opportunities, people, and circumstances that surface throughout our lives to  illuminate our path.  The incidents and the people create tiny sparks that cause us to recognize, 'This is for me.'  These sparks are signals to pay attention and be astonished and know that the little sparks are being ignited by the Divine Source of all creation.  Unknown

I don't know where I found the above quote but it has been a source of inspiration for me.  I have been re-reading books of all sorts recently in order to cull out and release more of the clutter I have around me.  I forget how blessed, prosperous and fulfilled my life is periodically.  I forget that my life has a Divine plan and that I am living that plan while living my dreams.

Years ago, I remember driving down a freeway and seeing a huge Motor Home and thinking, where are they going?  What did they have to do to get to a point where they could enjoy something so magnificent?  And immediately, I heard a voice in my head that said, "Claim it."  I did.  At that time, that was like something that was so far out of my realm of existence, I promptly forgot about it.

Yesterday I was looking through my camera at some of the pictures accumulated and realized that there was a picture of our Motor Home, which I call our "Mansion on Wheels (MOW)" and the tow in the rear.  Now, most Motor Homes tow a baby jeep, 4-wheeler, or some other light weight vehicle to get around when the home is anchored.  We tow a Jaguar.

When I realized this, my head went to "OH, My God!"  My dream and it manifested into something bigger than even I could imagine.  I need to look around my world and claim more of the good that I see.  Again, the lesson of "pay attention and be astonished."  I want more astonishment in my life. How about you?

Disgruntlement is not Allowed

"No disgruntled, unhappy sort of a person can do much in metaphysics.  That would be the first thing to begin with, so you can set a sense of peace, and satisfaction, calm and serenity.  God makes things from what you think."  Ernest Holmes

No wonder things don't manifest for people who are unhappy with their lives.  This really is proof that consciousness creates what we think.  We are at the center of God consciousness.

This quote is from Love and Law by Ernest Holmes.  This is the first time I am reading it and it is creating the excitement I had when I first started realizing what the Science of Mind was all about more than 30 years ago.
I remembered how thrilled I was when I first changed a red light to a green one while driving cross town.  Or how parking spots opened up in San Francisco in front of the doors where I needed to be.  Or when I lost a valued necklace and told the universe I wasn't finished with it and to please put it someplace where I was sure to see and find it again.  It happened within an hour.  Or when I got lost in Oakland in the industrial area (a very scary place to be when you don't know where you are) and asked to be guided to where I wanted to be.  I remember I heard this voice in my head that said, "Turn right.  Now the next left.  Go straight.  Slow down.  Cross this street and turn into the alley."  I was amazed.  I was where I needed to be!

What fun to get what you want when you want it.  It takes training, good thinking and being definite in what it is that you want.  I remember using this process while studying for my PhD. degree years ago.  I was the first in my family to get an advanced degree.

Dr. Holmes goes on to say, "We will learn by doing and not by reading, or hearing, but by doing."  I have pulled out my ragged, falling apart, Results Journal just to be able to record my winning results by "doing."  Join me?

Patience Pays Off Big

"Spiritual slumps are those periods when life feels stagnant and God feels far away."  Jane Beach

Several times in my life, I have felt the "spiritual slumps."  And as Rev. Jane goes on to explain, they are times of preparation for what's ahead.

This is a great lesson not only in patience but to stay present to what is going on in your life.  I have a tendency to want to jump forward into what's new and next not fully prepared for the energy or what is needed to fully experience that next phase of life.

There have been a few things I have learned and one of them is to be patient because there will be a lift off and I will be flying soon enough.  I use this slump time to rest, renew and get myself ready for what is about to take place.  Knowing God, it is something spectacular and is designed especially for me.

I use the time for the completion of projects that need to be taken care of before the "next" big push into what my next phase of life is to be, including a deep cleaning of the house and a purging of what is not longer needed in my life.  There is something wonderful about spring cleaning - like a deep breath of fresh air right after a gentle rain.

Your next step of life is a giant step in consciousness and it takes courage to be present and alertness to know when the time is right to make a move.  I always ask for signs so that I know I am on the right track.  The sign can be anything out of the ordinary like finding a penny on the sidewalk, street or even in your house.  I once found $.75 in the washer with only my underwear in it.  Very mysterious!  But fun.  My sign that it was time to move into something big, lucrative, and energetic as the money was made up of pennies, nickels and dimes.

All of this reminds me to again "pay attention" to what is going on around me.  I invite you into the journey with me because if know the adventure will be great fun.

Building Castles in the Sky

"...we imagine bungalows when we should be building a palace."  Florence Scovell Shinn

When I read the above quote, the thought came to me that if we don't get what we want it is because we have asked for too little.  She goes on to say that, "All power is given man (through right thinking) to bring his heaven upon his earth, and this is the goal of the "Game of Life."

Since she is getting this from the Bible, it occurs me to that each of us creates our own "kingdom of heaven."  Glory be, my kingdom is way too small.  Even though I have and have had a good life, I can think back in my life and career that I have thought way, way too small.  I have been feasting at a buffet table with weinies and beans with the prime rib just down at the end of the table.

I realize that wealth is a matter of consciousness.  But there are some things that I could be enlarging upon in order to create a greater experience of life.   How many of us don't want the mansion because we would have to clean it?  Now it occurs to me that I could have "hired" the cleaners.  See what I mean about thinking too small?

She again tells us, "There is a supply for every demand."  I have not been demanding enough of my birthright.  Ernest Holmes reminds us that, "Big results come to those who think deeply and simply and pertinently and persistently, and then, because they know."

It is time to create the story of my next half life much bigger than I have up until now.  I know this process can be fun and it is okay to expand on what I already have and just go for more.  I love the idea of building castles in the sky - maybe three or four of them.  Join me?
